In order to further enhance and accelerate group-wide efforts toward the realization of a sustainable society, TBS Holdings organizes the Sustainability Committee, chaired by the president and representative director and vice-chaired by the managing director and CSO (Chief Sustainability Officer). The Committee examines and implements specific measures for issues related to ESG and the SDGs, such as climate change, human rights, labor, environment, and governance.
Under the Sustainability Committee, four working groups related to climate change, human capital, intellectual property, and wellness, and a subcommittee related to human rights have been established, with members assigned from various departments in the company. The Climate Change Working Group defines specific action plans to realize a carbon-free society, such as actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save energy. The Human Capital Working Group clarifies human capital management policies as one of key management strategy through the analysis of entire TBS Group human capital. The Intellectual Property Working Group identifies and analyzes intellectual property and intangible assets of the TBS Group to clarify the direction of intellectual property strategies. The Wellness Working Group works to build working environments that are fair as well as physically and mentally safe, allowing people with diverse backgrounds to flourish, and strengthens health management.
The Human Rights Subcommittee defines measures to ensure the respect for human rights in all corporate activities with the aim for the TBS Group to realize its social responsibilities. This subcommittee not only conducts its due diligence into human rights and identifies any potential human rights risks in business activities, but also mitigates and prevents the risks, and discloses information about these actions after evaluating its feasibility and effectiveness.
The Group Sustainability Conference consisting of affiliate companies of TBS Holdings strives to raise awareness about sustainability throughout the entire Group, foster sustainable growth and corporate value, and contribute to resolving social issues.
